This was a breakthrough piece and the first in the "Defying the darkness" series. It was also one of the "do overs". This has been an uninspiring abstract landscape. As I approached old work with a new eye as the new year began, and I was feeling motivated to defy Trump by coming from a place of love and joy, this floral emerged. Once I started, I couldn't stop and have created quite a series of these.
